Established in 2006, Isaan Realty is a small company that uses quality consultants on all of our projects. We use local labor and line managers, but our projects are supervised by one of our directors working alongside our French architect and our German Project Manager who are based in Thailand.
The 2 company directors are married to Thais from the Isaan Region and both own property in the Region. Spending several months a year in Thailand they have seen that Isaan offers real opportunites to foreigners at values which are much lower that anything that is available in other areas of Thailand such as Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.
Over the past 5 years we have seen Bangkok simply rocket skyward and become more like a New York in Asia where property prices can be as much as $1 Million.
On the beach resorts we have also seen property developments spring up everywhere as the beach resorts clamber to attract more and more visitors. Unfortunately more of these visitors are single males who simply want to party hard for the 2 or 3 weeks they are holidaying for in Asia, thus making retirement hopes for those seeking a gentler pace of life appear jaded.
In the Beach Resorts property prices have also risen to a very high level and if you speak to foreigners who bought a home in Phuket or Pattaya perhaps 5 or more years ago they will now bemoan the fact that the resorts are now far too busy, they feel unsafe to venture out late at night, crime has increased and the home they bought 5 years before with uninteruppted views now has properties all around it.
Isaan offers a different lifesyle which is unknown to at least 95% of all the visitors who come to Thailand. A very easy flight from Bangkok to Khon Kaen for around $50 and you are 400 km from Bangkok in the region of Thailand where the majority of food is grown. Everywhere you will see farmers working and rice being grown and markets with a vibranncy.
The Directors have travelled by both Train and Bus around Thailand and can testify to the fact that for around 200 baht you can catch a train in Bangkok and be in Isaan in around 6 hours or for around 350 bath you can travel on an airconditioned coach with seats reminiscent of business class on an aircraft.
Drinving will take you about 4 hours from Bangkok and Flying around 40 minutes, even if you wanted a taxi to take you over 350 km from Bangkok to Isaan that would only cost around $100.
We find land by simply going out and speaking to the locals or we are called by family relatives who know of land that is for sale. In Isaan they still sell land by word of mouth, finding a roadside sign advertising a small plot of land is a rarity.
My Thai partner, Duang does all the talking and speaks to the owners, explaining that we will offer a cash price for the land and explain our plans. We explain that we'll advertise the land on this website. Most people know what a website is and that it's somehow related to "the internet". As such they aren't too sure how it works, but they know lots of foreigners use this "internet" thing, so it can't be a bad way to sell land and bring foreigners and wealth creation opportunities to their local area.
What we don't do is increase the asking price in order to rip off buyers. There are too many people doing this in the beach resorts already. Therefore, when we are interested in buying land we will always be able to meet the land owners and negotiate direct. This allows us to build quality homes at prices which offer real value to our customers.
